AAFPO Announces Prize Winners & Officers
Approximately 300 AAFPO members attended the Annual Membership Meeting held June 13, 2009 at the Angel Fire Community Center. Congratulations to Charter Improved member Joe Cox, winner of the meeting attendant prize valued at $1092.77 and Base Improved member Howard Caesar, winner of the ballot submission prize valued at $1128.14! The annual meeting agenda included the "State of the Association" presentation led by AAFPO President Barry Rogers, the Angel Fire Resort Report presented by CEO Pat Brunstad, and announcement of the election results to fill two Board of Director positions held by Jim LeBus and Jack Fuehr, whose three-year terms expired in June 2009. Director Joan Ronchetti announced the two winning candidates were Jack Fuehr and Michael Woolley. The election included 885 qualified member votes, with the top three vote recipients being Jack Fuehr, Michael Woolley and Jim LeBus. On June 17, 2009 in a Special meeting of a quorum of the Board, then President Barry Rogers announced acceptance of Director Spencer Hill's resignation, effective June 14, 2009. Director vacancies are filled by appointment, by vote of a quorum of the Board and remain in effect until the next Board of Directors election by the membership at large. Two nominees were submitted for appointment consideration. With a 6 to 2 majority vote of the Board, Jim LeBus, the third highest member vote recipient, was appointed to the Board. With a full Board in place President Rogers asked for nominations for officer positions. With a single nominee submitted for each position, a roll call vote was conducted. With one abstention the Board elected Jim LeBus, President; Michael Woolley, Vice President; Joan Ronchetti, Secretary; Lovelle Upton, Treasurer. In other business, the Board approved a plan to schedule Special meetings to supplement the Regular (quarterly) meeting schedule. Meeting schedules and contact information are available at www.AAFPO.org. Members are encouraged to attend Board meetings and will be given an opportunity to ask questions and express concerns.
